NW

Every time I think I have reached a satisfactory knowledge of the great English language, Zadie Smith comes out with a new novel, which forces me to reread the first fifty pages two or three times. But then words start to flow again, and they sing about London, the brutal and vibrant one that I know so well, about the harsh reality of immigration and integration, about friendship. Passionate, authentic and poignant. More, please.

Nuvole

"So, now Nonna is a cloud?"

"Yes. A pretty little cloud."

"So, maybe we will see her next time we go on a plane?"

"I don' t know. But I think she can see us, sometimes."

"Like, when it's cloudy."

"Yeah. Because she loved us."

"Yeah. This is sad."

Because she loved us. Time to be sad.
